The activated carbon product lines of CCC, including FILTRASORB, CENTAUR, and more are developed to remove organic compounds such as trichloroethylene (TCE). After an activated carbon’s adsorptive capacity has been exhausted, it can be returned to CCC for thermal reactivation and are cost-effectively recycled back to facilities for continued use. Besides, CCC designs and engineers UV disinfection systems incorporating the product line C3 series to treat the flows of most open channel wastewater streams and combined sewer overflows. The company’s UV technology disinfects wastewater by scrambling the DNA of organic contaminants without creating harmful by-products. Also, its ion exchange technology including ISEP and fixed bed remove the perchlorate, nitrate and hexavalent chromium from municipal wastewater. In 2011, a prominent chemical manufacturer plant was seeking a cost-saving alternative to wastewater disposal. They required an in-house treatment for the wastewater to reduce the organic chemical content in water and go to the plant for reuse instead of disposal. CCC conducted pilot testing for the suitability and installed a modular carbon adsorption system configured as two adsorbers with connecting piping. The company designed the system to purify process wastewater through GAC adsorption. CCC also supplied a large volume of reactivated carbon to the client and implemented spent activated carbon reactivation, which reduced the carbon footprint and costs for the plant. Furthermore, the company leased the carbon adsorption equipment and provided Field Service personnel for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting the client. Thus CCC helped the chemical plant to meet its cost-saving goals and manage wastewater effectively.
